My experience and education combined with compassion and integrity set the foundation for me to generate the outcomes you expect from a good lawyer.
I have practiced law for over 30 years after graduating from The Dickinson School of Law at The Pennsylvania State University in 1990, and then continued sharpening my litigation skills to enhance my courtroom presence by earning a Master's Degree in Trial Advocacy from the James E. Beasley School of Law at Temple University in 2008.
Hard work and ethics are strong values that were ingrained by my parents to whom I owe a great debt and honor. You will see these qualities in all the work I do when I am hired to represent you. My parents were hard workers. My dad, Eliot, was a truck driver and my mom, a secretary and interpreter. She valued education so much that she earned her college degree in her 50's. They wanted their children to have a better life and encouraged us from a young age to do well in school to have a better future. I continue this focus on education by mentoring community students who are interested in law and supporting scholarship programs for Latino students.
Growing up in a family that practiced the Golden Rule ("do unto others as you would have them do unto you") set a standard for me to treat everyone with respect and I do business with honestly and integrity. This principle and philosophy guides Leonard Rivera Law and my approach towards our clients. I empathize with clients facing difficult situations under much stress. We treat them as if they were family. It is this reputation that has led us to be retained by clients whose cases settled for $2.1 million and $6.5 million and hundreds of others who had satisfactory disposition of their legal matters. Honesty, compassion and respect generates a positive reputation, good outcomes and many referrals and repeat clients for my practice.
